Welcome To

Milton

This quiet horse farm community has recently been seeing a lot of growth in its economy.

One of the best places to live in the state of Georgia

Just 30 miles north of Atlanta is one of the best places to live in the state of Georgia. Milton is located in the unincorporated northern part of Fulton County. This quiet horse farm community has recently been seeing a lot of growth in its economy and population. People enjoy being far removed from the fast pace of the city without the big city being unreachable. The area is still largely rural as neighborhoods are still being populated and houses are being built.

What to Love

  • Close enough to commute to Atlanta when necessary
  • Large properties with newly built homes or undeveloped
  • Horse farms and quiet neighborhoods
  • Private golfing communities
  • Easy access to shopping and dining

Local Lifestyle

Life in Milton is casual and easygoing. The folks here do not feel the need to rush about, but they will welcome you with genuine hospitality. The area is known for the horse farms and stables scattered throughout the town. There are private golfing communities, new developments of townhomes, condominium homes, and single-family homes. Master-planned communities are beautifully designed and constructed.

The city is still being developed here, so there are a wide variety of home-style dining options and a few shopping centers, but more are on the way as the area becomes more populated. There are also several shopping centers in Alpharetta that are easily accessible from the Milton area.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

If you are interested in dining in a 150-year-old farmhouse, check out Milton's Cuisine and Cocktails. Enjoy your dinner in front of a fireplace or outside. Try upscale Irish and American cuisine in a classic Irish pub at the Olde Blind Dog. A general store built in the 1930s has been converted a number of times over the years, but it is now a restaurant serving elevated new American cuisine called 7 Acres BarnGrill.

Bethany Village Shopping Center is located south of Milton and has several shops, stores, and eateries. The Plaza at Windward shopping center is located in Alpharetta, right on the border to the south of Milton, and Windward Commons shopping center is also located just inside of Alpharetta. Both offer a variety of shops, stores, restaurants, and service providers.

Things to Do

The Painted Horse Winery and Vineyard is a great place to spend the afternoon or evening. Attend a wine tasting event or wine pairing event, a wine tasting with the addition of local cheese and honey pairings. You can also enjoy the horses stabled here and live music events as well. Scottsdale Farms is the place to go for pumpkin picking and a fall festival featuring hay rides and a corn maze. Then as the holiday season draws on, there will be Christmas lights and you can pick your live tree to take home after having hot cocoa in the barn. The rest of the year, you can purchase plants and outdoor decor, there is a plant pharmacy that provides landscape design services, and the property has a boutique gift shop and a cafe.

Formerly Milton Country Club and Golf Course, now the space is called Milton City Park and Preserve. The park is divided into two sections, the largest part is the passive section, a nature preserve for observing the area's natural beauty and wildlife with hiking trails. The active section of the park is where recreational programming and events take place. This section includes the city pool, tennis center, and community center. The area contains several playgrounds and pocket parks throughout the city.
